In that case you should bear in mind that this is the period that the most tourist sights and the other facilities in your destination will probably be crowded. Apart from the summer, winter is still not excluded and is a very good season for a Greece travel. Of course, there is no doubt that Greek islands travel is much preferred by tourists. However, the ski resorts on the mainland receive enormous amounts of tourists every year, such as Kalavryta or Arachova. Moreover, on the most of the touristy islands there are many hotels, bars, restaurants that remain open all the year round.
The transportation for your Greece travel is something you don’t have to worry about, since it is one of the more easy-to-reach destinations. Obviously the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to travel to Greece is by plane, especially if you live in Northern Europe. Many companies propose the route as well as many charter flights.
If you like traveling by sea or it is more convenient for the region you are starting from, there are also ferries to Patra from Trieste, Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi stopping in between at Corfu or Igoumenitsa. It is also easy to travel around Greece, thanks to the comprehensive public transport system, with buses covering the land transport network and reaching even the smallest villages. Trains are also a good choice, but only on places available. Finally, for those in a hurry, Greece has also a domestic air network, which covers many destinations.
