Sep 13: |
We will meet you upon your arrival at Athens Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" and transfer to your hotel
in the Center of Athens. A file with travel documents will be delivered to you during your transfer along
with maps, travel information booklets e.t.c.
Rest of the day is at your leisure to have a first acquaintance with the city of Athens.
Before dinner join and meet the rest of the group and the leader on an information gathering.

Breakfast.
We start our meander with a Half Day Tour of Athens. Panoramic tour of the major sights of the
Capital will be followed by a guided visit of the Acropolis and the museum and a short walk tour of
Plaka (Old Town) area will lead and end to the "kingdom" of Greece's most famous (Michelin-starred) Chefs Mr. Ioannis
Baxevanis.
In the classical ambience of a restore old Athenian building, enjoy a most revealing cooking class for an acquaintance of the Greek Gastronomic Cuisine.
Enjoy the lunch you will prepare to feature simple Greek dishes as well as more complicated ones.
We will take together back to the hotel or you are free to stroll your afternoon off
at the shopping area of Ermou.

Sep 15: |
Breakfast
Today we will visit the National Archaeological Museum and after a traditional lunch at the best
souvlaki tavern of Athens "Bairaktaris". The restaurant stands at the old area of Monastiraki and
is popular among the locals and travelers for the best souvlaki in Athens and for the warm ambience
created by its owner Spyros Bairaktaris.
After lunch off we go to our bus to commence our journey through the seaside area of Athens
to reach Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. After the guided visit, enjoy a sunset Cocktail.
Leaving Sounion and taking our way back towards Athens, we will stop to Zafeiri fish Tavern.
A delicious fish menu glorying the simplicity of the Greek cuisine will reward you.
Return to our hotel back in Athens and overnight. |

Sep 16: |
Breakfast.
Today we will depart Athens for our tour to Peloponnese and mainland Greece, where some of the
most important sites of Greece Classical and Byzantine history are to be discovered.
We will pass the Corinth Channel, visit Ancient Corinth site to be followed with a visit of
Mycenae site and museum.
At Mycenae at the restaurant of the King Menelaus we will taste the famous lamp on the split
along with other specialties.
Leaving Mycenae we are heading to Epidaurus to visit the theatre famous worldwide for its acoustics
to finally reach the picturesque Nafplion, once first capital of Greece.

Sep 17: |
We will head further south to the town of Sparti, we will visit Mystras archaeological site, this mystery
town laying at the foot of Mount. Tygetos was once the center of the Byzantine ages.
Heading south we will reach the southest point of the Peloponnesian peninsula, an area unspoilt and
isolated inhabited by a brave nation with strong customs and ethics. This is the area of Mani.
After our meander to this unique area we will end to rest at our hotel, at the wonderful Kyrimai.
Our demonstration regarding the olive oil and the preparation of bread will be followed by a delicious
dinner prepared with virgin local products.

Sep 18: |
Breakfast.
We will start with a 3 hour tour to Mani to see the villages with their unique architecture and visit the
caves of Dyros. Afterwards we will depart for Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

Sep 19: |
Breakfast.
Visit of the archaeological site and the museum of Olympia and departure. We shall leave the Peloponnese
behind us crossing once again the Corinth Channel through the longest suspended bridge in Europe to
find ourselves again in the area of central Greece. Passing Nafpaktos we will have a short stop at the historical and picturesque fish village of Galaxidi. We continue to pass by Delphi in order to
reach Arachova laying in the foot of Mount. Parnassos. Arachova is a town of vivid history, unique
architecture. Furthermore, it is famous for its local art crafts and quilts.
We will walk its beautiful paths. Finally we will reach our hotel in Arachova offering unique views to the
Delphian Gorge.
This afternoon we will have a demonstration session regarding the Greek wine, the traditional ways of
extracting it by an expert winemaker Mr. Zaharias. A paralleled taste journey to the Greek cheese will take
place. This will lead to a dinner with local specialties including the well-known in Greece "paidakia", roast
lamp breast.

Sep 20: |
Breakfast.
Today we will go back to Delphi, once believed to be the naval of earth, to visit the archaeological site
and the museum. Soon after the visit, we depart heading north this time towards the well known
Meteora monasteries and the adjacent town of Kalambaka.

Breakfast
Today we will visit this astonishing, almost out of earth place with the Meteora Monasteries heavenly
climbed ontop of he rock mountains.
Early in the afternoon, we take our way back to Athens, passing by the famous Thermopylae.
Arrive in Athens.
