The place to be

If your going to Kalymnos then this is the hotel to go to. A simple place but the staff (particularly at the pool bar, Mynos, Minoli and Nakita especially), make this the place to be. The sunsets from the beach, bar or room will leave you open mouthed for an hour. We both miss the place already.... More >

We a family of four with two teenagers -we loved the island-it was very laid back and relaxed- we stayed at Kyra Panagea -beautiful, very clean, nice people and there were two restaurants near us and on the beach that had fresh reasonably priced good food including homemade pasta at the Taverna 1... Hydra is simply just beautiful to look at. The port is the main tourist attraction, and so everything is easily accessible, you really don't need to go anywhere else. It has the most prettiest cafes and great shopping.

If you are a family, stay at one of the beaches. Try to get a hotel on the beach. Mykonos is hilly, and your hotel, just 200 m from the beach, could be 200m almost straight up a hill. The plane flight from Athens to Mykonos was very short. There are plenty of cabs if your hotel does not provide pick up transportation.
