• The carrier is not responsible for any damage or loss of the passenger’s luggage that is under his/her personal care during the trip.
• Jewelry, money and valuables may be delivered to the ship’s accounting office for safekeeping.
• The carriage of explosives, inflammable, incendiary and dangerous material in general is forbidden.
• If the passenger, the driver or the shipper misses the departure, they are not entitled to any refund.
• The ticket or the vehicle receipt is not refundable or replaceable in case of loss.
• The carrier is not liable for any delay in sailing, deviation and not keeping scheduled route, due to bad weather conditions or orders from the Ministry of Mercantile Marine or the Port Authorities or due to force majeure.
• The carrier and the ship are not liable for accident, loss or damage occurring prior to boarding or loading and after disembarkation or unloading.
* HELLENIC SEAWAYS
In the Ferries company of Hellenic Seaways, tickets can also be delivered by Courier service to an address indicated by the passenger (in Athens and Piraeus area), upon request, under the following necessary conditions:
a) the booking should be requested at least four (4) working days before the departure.
b) the total fare of the reservation must exceed the amount of 300 Euro.
* BLUE STAR FERRIES
If by the time of travel fares have increased, passengers holding open date tickets must pay the difference.
Ferries Cancelation policies
Here you will find information about the special ticket cancellation policy of the Greek companies Blue Star Ferries, Superfast Ferries and Minoan Lines. Please also ask your agency for this information as these policies can have changed.
BLUE STAR FERRIES
If the cancellation is made during HIGH SEASON (18/04/08-04/05/08 & 13/06/08-21/09/08), the following is applied:
7 days prior to departure, tickets are cancelled without charge or can be converted to open date tickets or for another departure date.
From 7 days and up to 4 hours prior to departure a 50% cancellation charge is applied or tickets can be converted to open date tickets or for another departure date.
4 hours prior and up to the departure a 50% cancellation fees must be paid.
After the departure, tickets cannot be cancelled or converted to open date tickets or to travel another date.
For the period 18/04/08-26/04/08 & 13/06/08-14/06/08 for all departures from Piraeus or Rafina and for the period 28/04/08-04/05/08 & 16/06/08, 17/06/08 for all departures to Piraeus or Rafina, tickets are cancelled without charge or converted to open date tickets or for another departure date, 15 days before departure.
During LOW SEASON, all other dates except those mentioned in HIGH SEASON and
3 days prior to departure, tickets can be cancelled without charge or can be converted to open date tickets.
From 3 days and up to 1 hour prior to departure a 50% cancellation charge is applied or alternatively, tickets can be converted to open date tickets or for another departure date.
1 hour prior and up to the departure 50% cancellation fees must be paid.
After departure, tickets cannot be cancelled or converted to open date tickets or to travel another date.
OPEN DATE TICKETS are cancelled without charge when they have been originally issued as open date. If they have been converted to open date, a 50% cancellation fee is applied.
* Τickets can only be invalidated by the issuing agency and they cannot be invalidated over the phone. Passengers who wish to cancel their tickets must hand them over to the issuing agency.
MINOAN LINES
From the date of ticket issuance and up to 30 days before departure, passengers are entitled to a 90% refund. From 29 days up to 7 days before departure they are entitled to a 75% refund, while from 7 days up to 24 hours before departure to a 50% refund.
On the day of departure the fare is not refunded. Moreover, refunds are issued only from the issuing agency.
SUPERFAST FERRIES
Cancellations can be made at the Travel Agency, Port Agency, Premium Sales Agent or Superfast Ferries S.A. or Blue Star Ferries S.A. offices that reservation and payment have taken place. Passengers are entitled to a 100% refund up to 21 days prior to departure and a 50% refund from 20 days to 24 hours prior to departure.
Superfast Ferries S.A. or Blue Star Ferries S.A. have no obligation to refund 24 hours prior to ship's departure or if the passenger does not report at check-in.
In case of a partial cancellation of a round trip, of which the one crossing has been completed, the passenger will be charged a one way fare and will be refunded as above for the balance of the round trip fare.
In case of a whole cancellation of a round trip, the passenger will be refunded as above (based on the time of cancellation).
A refund must take place up till and including three months after the date of travel.
