Motor vehicles are totally prohibited on the island and the only transportation means is on foot or by donkey. In wintertime, the weather is sunny but not hot enough to swim. Instead, you will enjoy long walks along the seaside paved paths of Hydra.

We do not stop in Poros, but you will see the lovely town from very close distance from the sea. Lunch is served on board on the way to Aegina. Drive to Delphi (about 3 hours drive from Athens) through the lovely mountainous town of Arachova, a popular winter destination in Greece. Located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi is one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. According to mythology, Delphi was the centre of the Earth and the sanctuary of Apollo, the god of future-telling. This is why Delphi developed as the most famous oracle in the ancient times and people from all the Mediterranean basin would come to ask for a prophecy from Pythia.
Pythia was the high-priestess of the temple of Apollo. When a pilgrim was coming to ask for a prophecy, Pythia would chew laurel leaves and god Apollo would speak his words through her. In Delphi, you will see the temple of Apollo, the Ancient Theatre, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Ancient Stadium where the Pythian Games would take place, the Gymnasium and the Temple of Athena Pronea.
Very interesting is also the Archaeological Museum of Delphi, just next to the ancient site. This museum hosts findings from the excavations. The most impressive exhibits are the Bronze Statue of the Charioteer of Delphi, the gigantic Sphinx of Naxos and two twin Kouros (male) statues. After the visit the the ancient site of Delphi, we have lunch in a Greek traditional tavern. Return in Athens late in the evening. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Athens.
