It is located in Paros and it is considered as the most important Byzantine Monument of Greece. According to the myth, the church was built on the order of St. Helene, the mother of the first Christian Emperor Constantine the Great, during her travels to the Holy Land. Many consider the church as miraculous and thousands of pilgrims visit it every year on the 15th of August, the day of its celebration.

The church is located in the Cycladic island of Tinos and is considered a sacred Christian area of the same importance as Lourdes in France or Fatima in Portugal.
