|
|
Have heard one or two nice things about Leros from fellow holidaymakers but
not been there, I quite fancy Vromolithos toward s the end of July and
wonder if anyone would like to share their experience of this area. I favour
quiet resorts with good Greek food and atsmosphere and nightlife beyond a
leisurely meal followed by a few beers and Metaxa is largely wasted on me. |

I have only stayed there for a few nights myself, visiting a friend doing its military obligation and I found it a friendly and fairly peaceful place. In addition to Vromolithos, you could also consider the nearby Alinda bay, but it won't be quiet anywhere near the
road. |

| I hope to go there for a few days in September, although my main destination will be Ikaria in the Eastern Aegean. Would also like to know something about Leros. I know a few traditional dance teachers from there, and want to meet up with them to do some nice nissiotika...although most of the festivals and paniyiris are in the summer. |

I've been going to Leros for 9 years and love it. It's very Greek, very low key, VERY charming and sounds just what you are looking for.
What are you waiting for??? GO!!!! |

Not just Brits in the cemetery. It's a very moving place.
