How do I get from Athens airport to Kefalonia?

If I come by plane to the airport near Athens, how do I get to Kefalonia? I have noticed there are no boats from Pireus, only from Patras as I understand it, but how do I get from Athens airport to Patras??? Bus?

Can someone with good knowledge help out as I am already thinking of next summer's holiday in Greece. I better change from Naxos, 5 visits, and Santorini, 3 visits.

So Kefalonia seems to be very nice, indeed. I'd welcome tips on accommodation, too, please.

Hi,

There are several ways.
- You can go easily by bus to Patras (2h30). You have to go to the main bus station (Kifisos) and take the bus.
- You can go by train but it is longer (Larissis train station).
