Cephalonia has many nice places to stay and visit. I always stay in the south of the Island at a place called Skala. It is a small friendly resort, that offers many fine Taverna's, and has a good mix of bars.
Skala has over 5km of sandy shingle beach, and all the usual small town ammenities super market, doctors, and little gift shops. Its about an hour transfer time from the airport. There are many fine hotels and apartments to stay at in and around Skala, you will be able to find ones from 2 - 5 stars at your local travel agents.
