Greeka.com : Any concerts near Chania beginning August 2009? : Greek Islands and Greece Forums

We will be in the Chania area beginning of August for 2 weeks and I wonder if there are any good concerts of Greek female singers on in the area?

I saw that there will be the Chania Summer Festival going on in August, but couldnt find their official website? Has anyone been to it and can tell me what sort of things they offer?
In Paleohora there will also be concerts the first 2 weeks in August? What is that like?

Would be grateful for any tips.

Hi Susi,

I just checked - it is unfortunately still too early for the program of the Chania summer festival. Once ready, it should be announced on these pages: http://www.dipeh.gr/enter.htm, I don't know how your Greek is though!

Then there is the Platanias festival: http://www.chania.gr/agenda/diafora/6186.html
It will be over though by the time you will be getting there.

On the days you will be in Chania, there is an interesting event on the 8th of August, Thanos Mikroutsikos - Miltos Pashalidis- Rita Antonopoulou. Definitely worth visiting.
