GPS / SatNav for touring around Crete???

Hi All,
We have booked to stay in Rethymnon in May this year with the intention of using it as a base for touring the island in a hired car. I have looked into obtaining a GPS but to hire one with the car costs 10 Euro per day! Rather expensive as I could buy one for that price for the fortnight stay on Crete. Problem now is finding a GPS that covers Crete! This has proved harder than I thought it would be.

If you know of any GPS models of any make that have maps that cover Crete or where to obtain a GPS on Crete that covers Crete... Please let me know!

I'm in the same position!... Have you asked the supplier at 10 euros a day what make it is????

I haven't asked but I'm sure I could find the AVIS center details and ask! I booked through a travel agent so didn't get there details at the time.

Hiya.... just to let you know after a lot of digging I have bought a Garmin 265WT as it is compatable with 3rd party maps that are produced for Greece....... although after getting it home and doing the new free Gramin Map update it has pretty good coverage Crete already!
