Thassos News and Events

Hello to all people visiting or living on Thassos!

I think we need a this site, to use this page for posting announcements,events and news that we think other like minded English speakers will appreciate.

I am not fluent in reading,writing,nor speaking Greek so this site will be a boon to people like me!

It will help us share info to help us, seeing as there is so little help on the island itself in relation to signages,posters,written info,papers,services etc. Even the Limenas Town Hall is not signed well enough for us 'foreigners' to do business efficiently!

So we must help ourselves, though most Greeks are quite helpful when they see you trying, we need that much more efficiency and activation of our wishes for a more pleasant stay on Thassos.

Can we share some useful info please???

Great thank you for this link, so our News and Events are already catered for.
I guess my topic will still evolve around Thassos issues,news and events then!
Which is also good, because all I am hearing at the moment is about FRONTESTERIA the extra schooling paid for by parents.

I am told by Greek and foreign residents that they feel obliged and pressured to send their children to these extra classes because the ordinary daytime schooling is way insufficient to get children to a standard they could get employment after school,without the need for higher education.

Anyone else not satisfied with the normal daytime GREEK STATE EDUCATION?
