|

| I am having planning a trip in Rhodes for years and I have finally my reservations. I heard so positive words about this place! I am staying there for a full week. What would you suggest me to see? Can I see all the island in a week? |

Rhodes is a big island and there are many things to see and do except from beaches.
Here are some of the most famous spots
- The medieval town: It is a real beauty. There are many things to do and see. Some examples: Palace of the Grand Masters, the building of the Collachium, the superb hospital of the Knights, the beautiful inns, the Gothic churches, the narrow stone-paved alleyways, the stone arches and apses, the Palace of the Castellan, the various mosque...etc...etc...
- The village of Lindos
- Beaches: Faliraki, Kalithea, Afandou, Traganou etc... etc...
I would need hours to talk about Rhodes....
Have a nice trip! |

I haven't been to Rhodes since 1990 and I am sure that it has changed in many ways since then! Although the history of the island will remain the same, and you will have lots to see and do! I definitely recommend you visit Lindos - it is a beautiful place. And although the old town in Rhodes is commercial in the centre, it was a joy to explore all the little lanes which I am sure will still be there. I came away from Rhodes with some wonderful memories and it started my love affair with Greece - I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. |

We spent 3 days in Rhodes late July and initially I wasn't impressed as the hustle and bustle wasn't what I'd anticipated after 3 weeks in comparitively quiet Kalymnos. However, once we'd organised our car hire my impression changed and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The medieval town is impressive and you can spend a few days there still not seeing everything it has to offer.
We drove down to Lindos, visited the acropolis and swam at one of its many beaches and were surprised at how warm the water was. We also visited the Petaloudes and stopped at Faliraki to visit some friends. If you're 18-30 Faliraki will meet all your entertainment needs and you could probably spend a week in the relative luxury of this resort area.
We stayed at the Nafsika hotel which is closer to the old town amidst some fairly rundown hotels and although the hotel was a bit dodgy the staff were friendly and it suited our needs i.e just needing an inexpensive place to park our weary heads after the day's outings.
I think you could definitly see alot of Rhodes in a week if you're prepared to drive or can afford the various day tours that operate during the week although next time we go we want to see more of the bottom half of the island which we didn't get to explore this time. |

there are plenty of archaeological sites and things to do in Rhodes town!
The main town alone is enough to keep you occupied for days! 1 week is just right.
There is the romantic medieval city of Rhodes Town, with its cobbled streets and fortified walls, you'd think you were back in the middle ages. It was used by the knights of St John in the crusades against the Turks.
THen there is Lindos with its maginifcent bay!
