Hello everyone.
I'm new here, Bolton Wanderers are playing a pre-season friendly in Athens in two week. I am yet to currently book anything, travel or hotel.
I'm wondering what is the cheapest way to get to Athens? School hollidays? etc.
People have suggested a ferry from Turkey/ Italy. Anyone recommend this?
Public transport? Fly to another greek city?
Cheers in advance.

It's a little late to book a budget flight with Easyjet or the like, but you could check their website. Also, try XL or even BA. To get the best price you would have needed to book months ago. I wouldn't have thought it was any cheaper to fly to Turkey or Italy.
Or you could do what a lot of Liverpool fans did for the CL Final last year and book a last minute cheapy package deal to the Greek mainland or one of the closer islands and then get a ferry from there.
There are also any number of budget hotels in Athens and it's a great city to visit. Very hot at the moment though - I was there on Monday.
Hope you enjoy the game! |
