Restaurants in Kamari

by mechellej76 » Mon Jul 07, 2008 7:52 pm

Can anyone help? I am travelling to Kamari in September for my friends wedding, I am one of the Bridesmaids and I have been given the task of arranging the Hen night. I am looking for a traditional Greek Restaurant with traditional greek food and entertainment. There will be 16 ladies ranging in age from 30+ to 80. We dont want anything wild, just a nice meal and some great entertainment. Has anyone got any suggestions as I have tried to look on the internet but there does not seem to be a lot of information on the restaurants in Kamari. Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help you can give me.

I have heard that Andrea?s tavern would be good place. I didn?t visit there, so it?s only what I have heard and read.
Then there was one place where we went, but I don?t remember name of it. It wasn?t on "main street".
If you leave "city" and head your walk to "ancient thira" on main street and pass TUI- reception and Polydefkis hotel then it?s about 400meters from it, when you walk end of that street and turn right and there it is. (hope you understand even half of this)

Most of the more traditional resturants are off the main front beach area of Kamari. Try Byzantio or Lassarda, they are both family owned and runned, the food is amazing, and if you say to Nikos at Byzantio (thats the Waiter) he will arange for some family Greek dancing.

Santorini is the best place on earth for a wedding, I know that because two weeks ago I was married there, at the Santos Winery in Prygos. You could not ask for anything better.

Hope this helps

we are going to Kamari less than two weeks...our annual pilgramage! if you check back here around middle august i will look for some places that might be suitable and post the information. i know Damitris does Greek nights on wed and sun but might be to far from the main centre for the elderly people to walk. it is family owned and a Kosmar hotel the breakfast in there is wonderful so i would think their main menu stuff is good. their two sons and daughter do the greek music and dancing
