KAMARI - FURTHER INFORMATION PLEASE

by VickiL » Wed May 21, 2008 3:16 pm

Hi - I've just booked for my first holiday to Santorini and it looks absolutely beautiful from all the photo's that are displayed on this site, however, Kamari is described as "noisy". I just want to check it's not going to be like Faliraki, Malia ie. 18-30 holidays?
Also, I believe there's a lot of noise from the airport? I live close to Manchester airport so a bit of aircraft noise doesn't bother me in the slightest but I don't want to be lay by the pool looking out over the sea to my left and watching a jumbo land to my right lol!! I'm just a bit concerned as I've persuaded my mum to come here and as she's paying for me too so I don't want to ruin her holiday by wanting somewhere quite lively to stay and ending up next to the airport. Any further info greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

yes you do get aircraft noise but only on the beach and it doesn't bother me. it is not a big airport. the flights are not every two mins.. if your mum doesn't like go to Parissa on the water taxi it is sooooo peaceful. afew mins away and wonderful.

Brilliant - I can't see my mum in a nightclub and I wouldn't look very cool clubbing with my mum :D . Although peace and quiet sounds utter bliss I get a bit fidgety if I've run out of things to occupy myself with and would drive her crackers hence choosing Kamari. I'm sure we'll have a wonderful time and I'm worrying about nothing! As long as there's good food and Oozo all will be good.
Thanks for the response Weasie x

Just returned and it's amazing! The first thing I did when I got back was to look to book again and go on a property hunting mission.
