Hi there!

We're planning a trip through Italy and Greece, and I personally cannot WAIT to see Santorini. Only thing is, I'm reading on the site that the high speed hydrofoils and ferries are like 4-5 hours from Athens, which is fine, however, when I go online to check availability, all it comes up with is the 8hour travel times which really throws our schedule out of whack! Are there high speed ferries that travel between Athens to Santorini during late May? We'll be going there May 28th, and returning to Athens May 30th (I know, such a short stay, I wish I had more time!!)

Also, is it significantly more expensive than regular ferries ? Would it almost be a better idea to fly from a local airport in Athens over to Santorini?

Thanks!
Andrew

Note that the schedules iof the major ferry/hydrofoil company have not be announced yet. That is the reason why all online ferry application do not show all ferries. The only ferry that you see is Blue Star which is a regular ferry.

Flights to Santorini for such short stay is a good option. The flights depart from the International Airport of Athens. Santorini is small so once there it is easy to get to your hotel.

the price of airfare seems crushing, something like 173euro for round trip, if it's that expensive, we might not have a choice.

do you know roundabouts how much it costs for the low speed and high speed ferries?

Thanks so much! What do you think is most important to see in Santorini in the 2-3 days we'll be there?
