The narrow twisting streets of the old town were built to confuse invading marauders.I visited the old town many times and each time I became lost in the bewildering maze of alleys and passageways. At the top lies one of the original seven towers of the Kastro guarding one of three entrances to an area of houses, some Venetian and a 13th century Catholic Cathedral.

Other paved alleys of Chora in Naxos Island.
