|
|
Hello all
Hope someone has some good ideas
We went to Skiathos this year and loved it. We want to go somewhere else like it with same night life and things to do, but not over corwded with Britch tourists (i am British) but i like to have the local vibe.
Any ideas?
Much appreciated

Any parts in particular?
We are in our late 20s, we like having loads of restaurants, nice bars and water sports but dont want the 18-30 drinkers all over the place! Skiathos was perfect but we fancy a change.
We were also looking at Zante and around the Laganas resort.
Any help appreciated

Kefalonia is a calm place.
Zante is more active. There are resorts known for their nightlife (Laganas).
Zante looks more like Skiathos. Kefalonia is more authentic and is more like Scopelos (Skiathos' neighboor) _________________ www.greeka.com

I've been to Skiathos and enjoyed it. Caters for tourists but retains its Greekness.
You may like Halkidiki, which has as many Greek holiday homes as tourist hotels. Nice beaches too - we stayed in Polichrono. Lesbos is nice too, as was Thassos but I've not been there for some years.
We went to Zakynthos (Zante) a few years ago and didn't like it. Way too British. We've visited Kefalonia for the day from Leros a few times. It looks rather nice.
This is all based on personal preferences, of course. |

If you want more local vibe avoid any Zante resorts advertised in Brit holiday brochures!
Laganas, Argassi - full of package tour Brits, no genuine Greek bars even - all karaoke & larger drinking! The only place on Zante which was bearable was the main town itself - I guess the greeks are wise enough to let the invading tourists have the rest.
Skopelos is really nice, vibrant but cosmopolitan (ie non lager-lout). But stay in the main town for the life - dont go for the out of the way places - unless one of you wants to drive home late at night & not drink! |
