Hi Everyone,

We are planning to get married in Oia this coming May. We saw that you need your original birth certificates and unfortunately, we don't have them from our country of birth. Does any one know if there is a workaround to this documentation requirement? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Jonathan

The best would be to ask to some wedding agencies on Santorini. There are many of them on the web.

Hi

We married on Santorini last September, In Oia.
We spent 3 magical weeks on the island and it was perfect.

I would say when it comes to paperwork there is no cutting corners or ways around it!!!
You can contact the town hall in the town/region you were born and ask for a copy of the original, this is perfectly acceptable, as i had to do this!!
It cost about £10 and was delivered in a matter of days. I wouldn't risk anything else, cos the last thing you want, is to be dissappointed.

We sorted all our paperwork ourselves, it still cost around £500, as each document has to be translated and stamped for authenticity then verified at the Greek embassy. To us it was all part of the experience. We did send a copy over to santorini, to get the ok and then we sent all the original documentation over.

If you still have any quieries contact your wedding planner, I'm sure they would be happy to help.

Hope this helps!!
Happy planning
Lou x
