Is it windy ?

Hi to all !

Is it windy on Lefkas at the end of August ? Is the sea warm ?

Lefkas is always windy during the summer but only in some particular areas. There are in fact two areas famous for the winds: Ag. Ioannis and Vassiliki. This two areas are famous among windsurfer and kitesurfer.
The wind is thermal and only in this two areas.

there is normally a good wind coming north or south coming out of the canal entrance and going down or up through the meganissi channel. later on in the day around 4 -6 ish there is always a good wind just everyone rushes off to try to get in somewhere. i recommend anchoring off at a beach on the south-west tip of the mainland next to the canal- you can stay out late then and not have to worry about getting in. you will also get a good sail and bring a barbacue for the beach. it's brilliant!!! and the sea is quite warm towards the end of the summer. the beach is good because there is a fresh water spring flowing into the sea so there are no sea urchans to worry about!!
