Distance Heraklion Airport to Chania is a good 200kms+.
The drive takes 4hrs +/- allowing for a pitstop etc.
The main highway, the E-75 is well surfaced and all the time being widened and improved. The top speed is now 100Km+
Watch out for the local police who now have the latest speed radar traps.
If you arrive late night at Heraklion, especially charter flights and pick up a rental car be sure the tank is full. Petrol stations are a problem around Heraklion at that time of the night.
