Holidays in Mykonos for over 50

by Haidis » Tue Jul 19, 2005 7:18 pm

My wife and I want to visit Mykonos for one week. I have been reading much about the island and try to find as much reviews as possible and it looks very trendy and youth orientated. As we are both over the 50 do you think we can still enjoy it?

My husband and I, also both over 50, visited Mykonos a few years ago. You may find Mykonos Town rather loud and busy, especially at night but that worth the experience. One of the most cosmopolitan areas of the Meditteranean. The town is really beautiful and nothing lound and noisy during day and evening so you will appreciate much walking in this labyrinth town with its small cubic houses in narrow alleys. There are a few youth oriented beaches but many of them are familiar and quiet. And mykonos has many beaches.
If you are interested about the Greek culture, the main town has some interesting museums and there are daily boats to the island of Delos. Delos is extraordinary.
Mykonos is a paradise also for the 50 and more?

There are people of all ages there, because the island has something to offer for everybody. If you don't want to be in Mykonos Town because it can get busy and loud at some places late in the evening/night than try to find a place at Platis Gialos for instance. It's only 10 minutes away from Mykonos Town, and the bus goes every half an hour untill late in the night. A taxi costs close to zilch. There are plenty of great beaches you can go to by kaik (small fishing boates) from Platis Gialos as well. Try Elia, one of my favorites, or walk to Psarou :)...I'm jealous of you already... You can check out my page on Mykonos as well if you like. Go and have a great time.

mykonos villas

Hi,
Mykonos is an Island for all ages. There are no limits.
You only have to know which month you want to visit the Island, in which
location you would prefer to stay, and what kind of accommodation
you like. For luxury accommodation there is also a selection of private villas rentals in Mykonos with private swimmingpool which you can find sometimes in low prices.
