Are the beaches of Naxos beautiful?

The beaches are gorgeous! The beach of Plaka is the longer sandy beach of the Cyclades. It is also the only with dunes. The waters are extraordinary. They are also beaches for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

Yese, the whole side of the island starting from Agios prokopios and south - south west is an incredible beach.
The waters are super clean and the beaches excellent. Mind that Naxos waters are cold compared with Athens beaches for example, we Greeks usually prefer cold beaches.
It is an understated island with excellent service, reasonable prices and traditional areas to visit and have a good time.

Naxos beaches are fantastic. Wether you want an organised type of beach or a "deserted island" feel, you will find it.
The water is absolutely sparkling clean tap water.
There is the problem of the Meltemi, the wind blowing during July and August that will sometimes make your umbrella fly (problem easily solved by using a good rope and some heavy stones). On the other hand you will rarely suffer from the heat, and with temperatures reaching sometimes 40°C you will feel cool. This is common to many island of the Aegean, tough.
