Administrators, where does one classify Samothraki in terms of the forum sections? It's really Northern Aegean, isn't it, but I see only Eastern Aegean, Cyclades, etc. listed and I think it's too far north for these island groups.
Just wondering if anyone has been there, and what it's like in terms of a destination. Does it get many tourists at all? Are there other islands nearby?
Yea I've been to Samothraki. Actually thats where I am from! It doesn't get many tourists but it is a nice island. It gets ferries and boats. It's not a high-tech island. I haven't been there in years but I am going this summer, so I will post more info about the island itself. There are no islands near by, north of it of course is Thrace and to the east is Turkey, the closest island is probobly Limnos, but thats it.
Life is hard... why some people have the chance to have orgins from an Island???? and not me? Why my origins are from one of the most ugly towns in Greece? It starts from an "A" but I won't say more because It will cause me problems.
Ugly town? I don't believe you! Is this a city? Never seen an ugly horio, although I would say that many are run down... Give me a hint, what's the region????
Yes, the suroundings are amazing! Sea and mountains... But mountains are closer than the sea. Never lived there. Just my family village.
But the city itself is really ugly... It is the second worst I ever seen. The first is Heraklion. Not all the city of course but some important parts looks like a big "Omonia"!
ya i guess u could say that the villages are runned down? but samothraki is the best kamariotissa is very nice, they have a good internet cafe!!! and some good clubs- (my cousins club!!!!!) and some good goat and lamb up in the horio like Alonia, where im from!!!!! its pretty much THE BEST ISLAND!!!! jk no it really is
