Share experience about Leros?

Let's talk about the least famous Dodecanese islands: Leros, Kalymnos, Patmos, Astypalea, Nisyros, Simi, Halki, Kastelorizo and some other hidden beauties of the Dodecanese...

Share experience about Leros?

Have heard one or two nice things about Leros from fellow holidaymakers but
not been there, I quite fancy Vromolithos toward s the end of July and
wonder if anyone would like to share their experience of this area. I favour
quiet resorts with good Greek food and atsmosphere and nightlife beyond a
leisurely meal followed by a few beers and Metaxa is largely wasted on me.

I have only stayed there for a few nights myself, visiting a friend doing its military obligation and I found it a friendly and fairly peaceful place. In addition to Vromolithos, you could also consider the nearby Alinda bay, but it won't be quiet anywhere near the
road.

I hope to go there for a few days in September, although my main destination will be Ikaria in the Eastern Aegean. Would also like to know something about Leros. I know a few traditional dance teachers from there, and want to meet up with them to do some nice nissiotika...although most of the festivals and paniyiris are in the summer.

I've been going to Leros for 9 years and love it. It's very Greek, very low key, VERY charming and sounds just what you are looking for.
What are you waiting for??? GO!!!!
