ITS GOT TO BE PAROS
Why you say!! just because it has a roundabout with a windmill on it,
or its got a super market and don't get ripped off. In the old town next
to the new town?of course, but you never bored.Where the choice of
where to eat because they are all good, the wines are good.
The people are great, rent anywhere in or around Parika why miss out on a
good thing.Hire a car loads to choose, then travel to Puonta catch the
little ferry to Antiparos takes about 10 minutes after you can catch the ferry back to Parika,of course the sunset nearly forgot.
Turn left when get off the ferry a little way down you see a beach
where you can eat, drink and watch the sunset its good very good.

Paros of course ;-)

No, Naxos is also very nice. If you like biking for example or walking, or enjoy old villages, Naxos might be your choice, but I think Paros has a nicer atmosphere and and is "neater" alltogether.

Which Village?

by DenaZ » Thu Mar 29, 2007 11:29 pm

Thank you Oliv and Paros Girl for the information!

Oliv, I love Greeka.com! It has been sooo very helpful in planning in this trip of ours to Greece. It is very informative, I love how it offers descriptions and 360 views of villages and islands!

I tend to get overwhelmed in the Hotel section of the site, I'm not sure which village to choose? Which village would you recommend? My husband and I are 25 and 30 we love to explore and also love the beach...

Thanks!!

Thanks everybody for the good words. We are doing our best to offer a great site about Greece and the Greek Islands. There are a lot more to do and we are working on it.

Well, concerning Paros and the villages where I would stay. Of course Naoussa is the top of the top. But, I am not a great fan of tourist areas so I would recommend some areas less popular. Actually Greeka.com is not offering any accommodation there! and I am not sure if there are any. The villages are Marpissa and Lefkes. I really love these two for the reason that there unspoilt.

Lefkes is really in the middle of the islands and is a good location to reach all parts of the island.

Maybe, as it is the end of summer and I have seen thousands and thousands of tourists this summer, my point of view will be totally different at the begining of next summer. I spent my summer on the island of Naxos ;) and really love this island. I enjoy windsurf and the island of Naxos, as we as Paros, offers great wind conditions.

Can you please advise on windsurfing on Paros or Naxos? We are a windsurfing family with small children and we will stay in a camping (end on June). We are considering:
- Santa Maria in the north of Paros (is there Meltemi strong enough?)
- Naxos Camping near the airport (too far from the beach? and not in nature as Santa Maria)
- Maragas Camping on Naxos (is there Meltemi strong enough?)

Any suggestions are really appreciated!

Thank you

I'd say Paros is a great place. I love to practice windsurfing there. If you also love water sports you can take a look on this windsurfing site to see more travel destinations from Greece and not only.
