Just love Kefalonia

We have visited 3 times now and back again in October. Toured the whole island except Assos (although we have seen this from afar).
The first time we visited was for our honeymoon back in 1997. Always promised ourselves a return. We have stayed in Lassi (twice) and Skala recently. Just love the beaches in Lassi although we walked from Skala to Mounda Beach this year (good walk of about 45 minutes). Mounda beach is soft sand and clear blue water. A couple of hotels there where you can get a drink and there are also a few beds to hire on the beach. Saw some people further along the beach who were acquiring an 'all over tan'. Best to take your own packed lunch. We have always found the locals friendly in Kefalonia and although both resorts (Lassi and Skala) are geared up for tourists you don't feel especially 'ripped off'. Visited Ithaka on a tour this time round. We always enjoy getting out on a ferry and found Ithaka lovely but a mite too quiet for us.

Hi,
It's my first time on here and I just wanted to have my say on Kefalonia. My hubby and I visited in September last year and had 2 fantastic weeks. We stayed in Lourdas and as always with the Greek isles, the people were so friendly and the food was fantastic as usual and the weather was its usual sunny and hot self !!!! We also toured the whole island and even did a day trip to Athens while there. All in all we absolutely love Greece, and reccomend it to anyone.

I was on Kefalonia this year, in one hotel in Lassi. It's just..beatiful. Beaches, nature, peoples, restaurants. I am loved in Kefalonia, and I want to come back next year..to see one man there and to feel again that beaty..the sea is beatiful. It's not so hot there..
We rent a car, visit Skala, Poros, Lixuri, Xi beach, Assos, Fiskardo.. Asos is specially beatiful place. I will go there soon..

We just adore Lassi for it's ease of getting about.
Just a short distance from the airport, and also just a short distance from Argostoli if we fancy more night life and shopping.
We found that alone made our holiday so much more pleasurable, especially as we took our Daughter and Son-in-law, and their 4 little children ALL UNDER 7!!! (Brave, I know) But it was such a breeze to get off the plane, and be at our resort within 10 minutes, and we weren't ripped off for transfer fee's, just a few euro's in a taxi!!!

We're doing it gain next year, and taking our Son and Daughter-in-law and their 4 children too!!! We wouldn't even contemplate it if it wasn't so easy last time. A 7 year old, a 5 year old, and 2 year old twins. We must need our heads looking at!!!
