Ok

Driving in Greece is an art. The locals do drive very fast, even on the mountain roads, where one mistake and your over the edge. That said, I would take it easy, drive a little a day to get use to the area. You might not want to drive at night, there is a lack of street lights once you leave the towns. I think there is only one round about on the island, so not to much to remember, apart from driving on the right.

I have driven in the worst place on the planet, Paris, and after driving there any where is easy.

Thanks a lot Jsaston, thats what we will do, avoid night drives and pay attention. I guess renting a car is compulsory if you want to see a fair bit of the island
