Is it true that Santorini is more expensive than the other Islands?

Yes, but as expensive as Mykonos.
That doesn't mean that you won't manage to find cheaper... But everything on the caldera is expensive. I was there a couple of weeks ago and check few restaurants menu to see prices and they were having the "Greek Salade" between 10 to 14 Euros. It cost 5 Euros in Athens.

Can you give some examples of costs for starters, mains etc and drinks in an average taverna in Kamari.

I travel a lot from island to island. Can't remember all costs :)

yes between most island travel only the fast boats and they use a lot of gasoline, that's why the cost are higher. In the summer months there's also the Anek lines with the boat Prevelli which cost 16, oo p.p. only deck
