I need heeeelp on Skiathos

Hi all i have just arrived at this site so please bear with me.
I, like all of you probably love the Greek islands, but, we are in love with Kefalonia, and my husband wants to keep going back and back (6 times now) I would really love to visit amother island and i was thinking about Skiathos.
I am disabled but, have a motorised scooter to zoom me along and get by just fine in Kef.
Could anyone tell me the best beaches, best towns to stay in tavernas, etc. etc. We don't like discos or karaoke but love having a bottle or 2 of wine with new friends watching a beautiful sunset.

Skiathos is a beautiful island, I've stayed in Kolios/Aghia Paraskevi twice and loved it. There are a few nice little tavernas/restaurants that are easily accessible, and I think maybe the Marina apartments would be a good choice for you and your scooter. They have some ground floor apartments that don't involve any steps and are run by a very friendly family.
I don't know if you would find it easy to get to other towns via bus or taxi, but transport on the island is very good and car hire is easy. Just about every beach on Skiathos is lovely and I'd imagine if you didn't struggle on Cephalonia you'll manage on Skiathos.
This is of course based only on my own experience of the island - I'm sure there's a wealth of useful information available to you.
