How to get there

Has anyone ever been there? I am invited in a wedding there, in September and sounds difficult to get there from England.

It is not hardly accessible and really worth the effort. There are boats that connect the island to the second major town of Greece, Thessaloniki. I am pretty sure that you can find a flight from London that will get you there.
Otherwise, there are direct flights from Athens to Skiathos, the island just next to Alonissos.

In september you can also get a direct flight from England to Skiathos, and get a fast ferry from there to alonissos, quite easy and worthed the trip!

Hello everyone
I'm trying to plan my visit to Alonissos, but it seems to be harder than I've expected.
I've already had a flight from my country to Skiathos but when I try to book the ferry from there to Alonissos it's only available for my arrival day, 2nd of september, but not for my departure day, 12th of september. Are there ferries for these dates? In case, how could I book it? or may be does it need a booking and I can buy it on board?

it took us 16 hours flying from newcastle to skiathos to get to our hotel, a long day but worth it

why dont you try booking everything through greeka, thats what they are hear for. flights hotels ferries ect, it might make your trip a lot easier. just a suggestion. hope you enjoy it its a lovely island well worth the long travel
