I have never been on an All Inclusive holiday mainly because I really don't fancy the idea of having everything handed to me on a plate (excuse the pun) but prefer to find my own places to eat preferably somewhere that cooks and serves more traditional dishes. It is also a good way to meet people and to get to know the country you are visiting.
There are at least 4 A/Is in Tigaki this year and when we visited in June the lack of people eating in the restaurants was very noticeable, far less than previous years. I know it was the beginning of the season but the owners were all worried about how the rest of the year is going to pan out. With a resort the like Tigaki which is made up mostly of restaurants, snack bars and a few bars plus some mini-markets it is difficult to see how the local businesses are going to cope with the drop in customer numbers. I can foresee many closing down at the end of the year which would be a real shame as the majority are family owned and run.
I would be interested to know what other contributors ideas/experiences of them are.
