holiday in santorini

Hi Forum,
In August I will go to santorini with friends, I saw the Mathios Village in akrotiri and I liked the photos, someone tell me how is this hotel? In addition you recommended to stay in akrotiri or is it better to seek a hotel in Kamari? One last question, someone tell me knows prices for renting a scooter or a quad? Thank you very much

i would go to Kamari it is much busier than Akrotiri .Santorini is not a big island you can stay and see the whole island where ever you are. Kamari gives you the choice to visit Akrotiri but enjoy the beach and shops in Kamari and also the sites of Fira and the caldera.go there you will not be disappointed

Just returned from Kamari and it is fairly busy but didn't go to Akrotiri so can't compare.
I didn't look at the prices of renting scooters or quads but there are a couple of places in Kamari that do rent them out. Not sure what documentation you would need to provide either. Also, our travel agent advised that we weren't insured to hire quads or scooters but suggested a car instead so that maybe something worth checking
