Rhodes or Corfu?

Rhodes, the island of the Knights and the Sun. Did you know that Rhodes has 300 days of sunshine per year?

Rhodes or Corfu?

My wife and I visited Crete for a week in June 2007, staying in eastern Crete in Koutouloufari near Hersonissos. We made a day trip to Santorini from Crete. If we were to visit the Greek islands again in summer (say in the month of June), I would consider Corfu and Rhodes and perhaps Kefalonia. Which would you recommend? I am interested in history, sandy beaches, architecture and some greenery too, if possible, which is not widespread in some prominent and popular islands. Regards.

Well out of those three, it depends on what you're looking for.

In my opinion,
Nightlife:
1.Rhodes
2.Kefalonia
3.Corfu
Architechture:
1.Rhodes
2.Corfu
3.Kefalonia
They are basically even on beaches, so I can't tell you which one. I would recommend Rhodes the most, then Corfu, then Kefalonia. Also try other islands too. I loved Milos and hear Zakynthos and Mykonos are beautiful. Check out the mainland too. Halkidiki and Peloponnese have great beaches.

Hi hellas719! Thanks for your useful reply. As suggested by you I was also considering other islands and have been exploring the possibilities at the Cyclades. Naxos seems to be quite a favourite on many counts, for instance. any suggestions for the Cyclades? Regards
