Which Island?

by shinny » Thu Jun 29, 2006 12:07 pm

I am planning to go to one of the greek Islands in mid September. I have a problem though, I will be travelling from Ireland and I can't find any holidays to most of the Islands. I want a resort with a sandy beach (no stones!).

Anyone know of a nice Island that I could get to that would make a good holiday for a young couple?

Hello Shiny,

Well, I don't understand your question well.
Are you searching for a direct flight to an Islands or you want to take a regular to Athens and then transfer to the island by ferry or plane.

90% of the islands are really great but there are some party islands, so touristy, some incredibly beautiful, some expensive, some traditional, some picturesque, some with ancient ruins, some religious, some gay friendly, some artistic etc etc...
If you can get more specific I will tell you were to go!

 Hi ,We live in Ireland,Cork. We have been to Kalamaki in Zakynthos the past 3 yrs and loved it,lovely beach, the turtles lay their eggs there too,a beautiful island and lots to do too. We always stay at the Caretta Beach Hotel,it has a new part adjacent to it the Caretta Bay,the bay being quieter, both have lovely pools, flights are from Cork on a Sat night, and the manager is there to welcome you when you arrive, the hotel is owned and run by a lovely family, nothing is to much to ask,the cleaners are so nice too and the hotel is very clean, rooms are basic but nice. We are going to Stalis Crete this year just for a change but will def go back to Zante again next year.
