could anyone give me advice on renting scooters in Santorini and Mykonos? I will be going with 3 friends the middle of September and am trying to figure out the best way to get around. Also, do we need international licenses or will our US ones suffice? Thanks for the info!

Hello,

Normaly the US one should be fine. For people from Europe they ask the motorbike licence otherwise they don't let you drive.
For me the best way to get arround is the scooter. But as I live in Greece I know how the Greek people drive. Like crazy!!! There are many accidents every summer with tourists in bikes because it is the cheapest way and they don't have experience in driving scooter and as I told you before the people drive like crazy.

So if you have already an experience with bikes, just rent one otherwise have a car.
You must know that for both Santorini and Mykonos, the public transportations are very well organised. So just rent a car for one day on each island in order to see everything you couldn't usuing public transportations.

I wish you great holidays on the most beautiful and cosmopolitan islands of Greece!
