We are coming from Canada and have no ideas of what places we want to see or things to do and hope this board could provide some insight into what islands to see or packages to go with. Could people share their experiences with me about spending 7 or 8 days there. Should we go with a package that gives 2-3 days on 2 islands or just fly into Athens and then do the rest on our own? That depends of your character and the time you have to invest in organizing the trip. If you have time and patiance, you can organize everything by yourself. Actualy the most important is the hotel. Then, once an an island you easily find transfers, tours, etc. Concerning ferry tickets, you can buy them just before boarding during low season. In high season it is better to buy them in advance. The good thing about packages is that you don't have to think about anything. Everything is organized. You just arrive at the airport and they pick you up from there. They also usualy offer a selection of very good hotels. And their transfer people are kind, smiley and helpful. More, you have an emergency cell phone number so you will always be assisted with greek speaking people. So it is up to you. This site proposes many packages. In all cases, for honeymoon, go also to Santorini. It is the most romantic and impressive area in Greece.
