Zakynthos, the island with the two faces: busy and loud on one side, calm and family on the other...

I like Zakynthos much. I have visited Tsilivi many times and really like the place.
It has this large sandy beach with calm waters (even when it?s windy) and really safe for kids. The area is very touristy and offers many activities, watersports and restautants - it is completely safe - so the area is ideal for families and older couples.

We are a couple in our 50s and have just spent two weeks in Zakynthos, 1st -15th -07-05. We stayed at the Arion Renaissance hotel in Vassilikos. This is a quiet village, although it was just begining to get busy, and ideal for older couples. Tsilivi was a lot larger and more touristy with plenty of bars and taverna's more suited to a family.

Went to Tsilivi a few years ago. Very nice beach with beach bars right on the sand. 'Older couples' ie us, found the centre a bit too touristy but there are enough good restaurants around on the fringes to compensate for this.

Check this out - great place to stay if you prefer some peace and quiet.

Just come back from here and can recommend.

Good luck
