day-trip or overnight to Olympia?

Is Athens worth visiting? My travel agent is pushing us to go there and see the sights such as doing a day trip or spending the night in Olympia.
She also mentioned Argolis...

Im coming from the States and only have so much time I can spend in Greece, I really do not want to waste my Days in Athens if it isn't worth the visit...any opinions?

Athens is really great for a couple of days. No more. There are a few things that must be seen. The Acropolis (of course), the area of plaka, some sites and the archaeological museum.

Then there are many things to see for a day/ 2 days trip.
There is Olympia, Epidaurus, Nafplio, Delphi, etc...
The most famous is Delphi.

day trips. so you can enjoy the sights more. It's also safer to travel that way, so you can plan your day ahead.
