Zagori is a mountain region in north western Greece and it belongs to the prefecture of Ioannina Epirus. Surrounded by huge mountains, Zagori is one of the most secluded regions of the country.

An impressive geological site in Zagoria is Vikos Gorge, the second deepest gorge in the world, after Grand Canyon.

Most popular villages in Zagoria include Papigo, Monodendri, Vitsa and Aristi. These villages are snow-covered in most part of the winter and cold is heavy there.

Ioannina or Konitsa can also be used as bases for excursions in
south east.
