 The Folklore Museum in Theologos Thassos, Eastern Aegean: One of the three folklore museums in Thassos (the other two are in Limenaria and Kallirachi) is the museum in Theologos, a traditional village 55 km from Limenas. As Theologos used to be the old capital of Thassos, it has many mansions of traditional architecture.
The Folklore Museum of Theologos is housed in the Mansion of Hatzigiorgis in the centre of the village. It has two floors. On the first floor, there is a large collection of machinery and agricultural tools. The second floor depicts a traditional house of Thassos few decades ago. There visitors can see the living room with the fireplace, the bedroom of the couple, walls and floors dressed in textiles, and a room with loom and weaving machines. |
