Thassos Reviews -General

Thassos is the nearest island to Kavala, where we had to go two summers ago for a family thing, so we decided to spend a couple of days there. Indeed, beaches are very nice but some of them can get too crowded. Hotels are a bit expensive, compared to the facilities they offer. Don't get the all inclusive package, try the small taverns by the beach. Their dishes are fresher and delicious. Villages are small and resemble one to another. In winter, they must be remote. It must be very difficult for the residents to spend the winter on Thassos. In summer, it is all lively and joyful, but when winter comes, things must be hard... Our hotel owner told us that the doctor would come once a week on the island, so was the mailman, and that if they had any kind of problem (for medical help to unsufficient food supply), they would have to go to Kavala (one hour by ferry).
