Thassos is a remarkable holiday getaway amidst the Greek islands. I just happened to come across it over the internet while planning for a summer vacation last year. Thassos is a great vacation spot for families with children. The beaches are safe (although a bit stony!!) and beautiful, everywhere there is a vast expanse of greenery even on the mountains. We stayed at a hotel in the tourist village of Limenaria. The beach was very clean and my kids loved the water sports. The port of Limenaria is the best place to walk around or hangout with friends and families at the taverns there. Fish dishes basically are very tasty here in these taverns and one can also try a lot of salads as well. At Limenas, we saw some exclusive tourist shops that sell some beautiful souvenir items. I bought a couple of them to gift to my friends and families. The items were a bit priced though but the rare artwork on both marble and wood made it worth buying.
