More about: Thassos island
We actually went to Thassos by motorcycle. The trip was great, Greece is the perfect country to ride a motorcycle, great views, gosd roads, civilised people. Also Thassos has a great connection to the land by numerous ferries, but better make the ferry to Thassos leave from Kavala, it would be easier to make excursions in the area. Now it leaves from a small village called Keramoti about 20 km from Kavala.

Thassos is a nice island, but there are many nicer. The combination sea and green mountains is great, we actually liked the mountains better than the beaches. Don't miss the lake near Maris, the Theologos village, the beaches in the south part of the island (they are wilder). People should get rid of the wasps in the beaches, there were beaches you couldn't stay on because of them. They should also improve the roads in the mountains, the views are beautiful but mostly inaccessible (and we had an enduro motorcycle). There is no sign to the Maris waterfall, we couldn't find it.
