Have cash not credit cards

Thassos is a wonderful island, Before I go, I didn't know anything about Thassos, it was a blind date. But then it was love at first sight. Most of the beaches are superb and breathtaking. The panorama around the Monastery of Archangel Michael is top. The shop at the monastery is one of the best places to find gifts and items of outstanding beauty. Also the music coming from bars at Potos was excellent. Greeks know about music, food and life. I am of Greek origin living abroad and happy to have been to Thassos this summer.
However, as much as I enjoyed my days in the sun and the green nature, I have to warn you about some problems you may face. Have in mind that Thassos is a small island and rather far from big cities, so be prepared for some inconveniences. For example, there is no bank branch at Potos, but only a cash dispenser and, in fact, the day I needed it, it was out of service. So I had to go to Limeraria to find a bank, where by the way bank people couldn't solve the problem with my credit card. It would be better if you had cash with you and a card to withdraw money, since credit cards are rarely accepted on Thassos.
