Excellent for family vacation

Thassos Review:
We enjoyed eating and drinking, and exploring beauties of the island. We tried many local specialities and would not stop if the holiday was longer. Mutton, fish, anything was delicious. The beaches we liked the most were Aliki, Paradise Beach, and Metalia Beach. Some villages such as Kazaviti Mega were the most impressive experiences, especially if we could enjoy them in the evening combined with dinner. In fact we had time to drive around the island few times and visit most of towns and villages. We especially liked historical sites such as Acropolis at Limenas and around, Aliki, Archangel Michael Monastery.
We did not see any policemen - keep it like that! Also: I had an impression local hotels are very little presented at web sites - maybe they do not have the need. A pity for somebody seeking direct contact. And hotels should extend swimming hours in their pools, to allow also early morning or late night. It does not always mean noise and guests would appreciate that. Most of maps were not very reliable, especially mountain roads for hikers. Nice surprise was to find tourist guide book in our own (czech) language in a small fisherman's village. Recommendation to future visitors: See the east coast from which the view of mountains is magnificent. Local beer is also acceptable, Mythos or local versions of foreign brands. In general our impression was: quiet, very friendly, excellent for family vacation.
