Thassos Dragon Cave: Panagia is a beautiful and lively village that is among the richest and the most important villages of Thassos. It is located on a gorge on the side of a mountain making it practically impossible to spot from the open sea.
The Dragon Cave also known as the Dracotrypa Cave literally translated to “dragon’s hole” is located about fifteen minutes away from Panagia. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites. Infact, it was named after a stalactite that was in the shape of a dragon.
Little is known about the cave as it is yet to be fully explored and studied in depth. |
