:: Limenas village

Location: On the northern coast of the island
Description: Limenas is the capital of Thassos island. It has been built on the site of the ancient town of Thassos and that is why it is surrounded by lots of archaeological sites.

:: The Old Harbour of Thassos

Location: Limenas village
Nearest village: This is where the fleet of the island used to moor in the ancient times. Today it is a picturesque neighbourhood to stroll around and to have your coffee by the sea.

:: Alyki beach

Location: 31 km to the south of Limenas
Description: Alyki can get a very crowded beach. Many people prefer to enjoy their swim there becasue it has crystal water and lush green surroundings.

:: The Ancient Agora

Location: Close to Limenas village
Description: The area of the Ancient Agora includes the remains of the ancient town of Thassos. There you will find ruins of temples, sanctuaries, an odeum, a theatre and the acropolis.

:: Limenaria beach

Location: About 40 km to the south west of Limenas
Description: Limenaria is a long, sandy beach with a picturesque environment. You will enjoy peace there and some taverns close to the beach serve delicious dishes.

:: The Folklore Museum of Theologos

Location: In Theologos village, about 50 km to the south of Limenas
Description: This museum is housed in the refurbished mansion of Metaxas Hatzigiorgis and includes 19th century furniture and agricultural tools.

:: The Monastery of the Archangel

Location: On the road between Astris and Alyki villages
Description: It is an old monastery woth interesting architecure. It has been built on top of a cliff and the view from up there is captivating.

:: The Cave of Pan

Location: Close to the ancient acropolis of Limenas
Description: The sanctuary is actually a man-made cave. It is believed that it used to be a worshipping place dedicated to Pan, a satyr with skills at playing music.

:: The Dragon Cave

Location: Close to Panagia village, about 20 km to the south east of Limenas
Description: The Dragon Cave is also called Drakotrypa. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites. In fact, it was named after a stalactite that is in the shape of a dragon.

:: Ypsarion Mountain

Location: Close to Maries village, about 40 km to the south west of Limenas
Description: This is the highest mountain of the island, ideal for long excursions among greenery and wildlife. Paths are good and marked. The view from the top of the pick is rewarding.
