touristy and slightly traditional. The beaches around the capital are excellent and covered with pine trees. The ancient part of the city is located at the harbor area and the archeological museum displays the historical findings from ancient to medieval era.
 In the inland of Thassos, there are picturesque villages with stone houses, paved streets and lush surroundings. Theologos, Potamia and Panagia are the most famous, crossed by various hiking trails that pass by waterfalls, old bridges and abandoned chapels. Thassos island also has exceptionally beautiful beaches, like Alyki, Golden beach and Paradise. Driving around, you will certainly find many coves to enjoy calmness and relaxation. |
